The Greek radio authorities are trying to regulate RDS, the information transmission system on the radio display. As early as yesterday, on Friday, 27 October, a public consultation on a draft directive on the "identification system" of radio stations has begun. The plan provides for a static PS message displaying a 8-digit code for each radio station, transmission of the radio station identity every 10 minutes via the RT field and non-use of the AF system and traffic information TA / TP). Eνδιαφέρον αλλά και πολλά ερωτηματικά προκαλεί η απόφαση του Εθνικού Συμβουλίου Ραδιοτηλεόρασης να θέσει κανόνες στο RDS, το σύστημα μετάδοσης πληροφοριών μέσω ραδιοφώνου που εμφανίζονται στις ψηφιακές οθόνες των αναλογικών ραδιοφώνων FM. Το εν λόγω σύστημα αποτελεί μια σημαντική τεχνολογική εξέλιξη, η οποία μάλιστα χρήζει διευθέτησης και οργάνωσης σε επίπεδο κράτους. Γι' αυτό το λόγο θεωρούμε ότι η επέμβαση του ΕΣΡ βρίσκεται σε καλό δρόμο και ότι θα έπρεπε να έχει συμβεί δεκαετίες νωρίτερα.
