The Greek Ministry of Finances agreed with the Ministry of Public Broadcasting to transfer the interim broadcaster, along with the entire personnel under the administration of the new broadcaster NERIT. The employees of the interim broadcaster will remain for a limited time and hand over to the personnel of NERIT which will go on with the program.

NERIT is going to operate with 354 employees in the beginning and further needs will be covered with subcontractors and outsourced productions. The interim broadcaster was originally planned to operated only for two months, but this was extended due to organization problems. It has managed to produced one TV channel, one full nationwide radio service with news, sports and contemporary music and one nationwide radio with non-stop classical playlists. At least two more radio stations and one TV channel are expected to be started by NERIT, but this keeps being postponed due to delays in the hiring process.

The former public broadcaster used to have 6 nationwide radio services, 1 international shortwave service, 19 local radios, 3 nationwide TV channels and one national. All these have been shut down since last June, but 13 local radios and 1 TV channel remain under control of the redundant employees, which keep producing full content, protesting the shut-down of ERT and requesting its reinstantiation, but also including full news broadcasting against the government. Major opposition party has already presented a plan which includes the reinstantiation of ERT if they become government, giving back the 2,000 job positions to the ones that have been fired.

Huge disappointment was spread in Thessaloniki, whose public radio and TV service is about to have a personnel of about 40 people, which is barely enough to operate a limited radio and TV service, supplementary to the Athens programs. The old broadcaster used to have hundreds. Neither the technical personnel for the countryside is considered to be enough for maintaining the transmitters' network.

The employees of the interim broadcaster have also expressed their disappointment, since there are few possibilities that all of them continue working in the public service, contrary to the promises they have been given, in order to quit the struggle that had started by all fired ERT employees.

Additionally, many complaints have been issued for the way and the criteria people were hired and it has been known that huge amounts, about 500,000 € were spent in order to cover the majour disorganization that happened after the closure of ERT. Much of the equipment of the old broadcaster remains unused or even stolen and destroyed.
