Serious radio conflict in Larissa radio-waves

A clumsy situation has been formed in the radio-waves of Larissa lately, as a big group of radio station owners have submitted a great amount of formal complaints to the National Broadcasting Council (ESR) against owners of other radio stations. In particular, a group of 5 radio stations has repeatedly asked the ESR to revoke the Certificate of Legal Operation of another 5 ones.

According to the agenda of the ESR, radio stations Stork Radio, Radio Elassona, Rhythmos 98.8, Enallax-DeeJay Radio and Scanner FM submitted a complaint against the certificates of Legal Operation owned by Radio Palace, Enjoy Radio, River FM, Power FM and TRT. Proceedings of the first two applications had been scheduled for Tuesday 15/2/2011 and the last three for March 1st. However, so far no decision has been announced by the ESR and the content of the complaints has not been published.

However, we have to point out that the group of 5 radio stations that have submitted the complaint, have received a Certificate of Legal Operation directly from the Ministry of Press and Mass Media in 2000-2001. Instead, the stations, whose legality is contested, have subsequent certificates issued by the ESR in 2003 and 2006. If the first able to prove that there is something wrong with evidence that the latter showed to get the certificate of legal operation (though it has been already there for 8 years), it can be withdrawn and they will be brought to closure.

It is worth noting that competition in the "flat" band of Thessaly is sharp and the stations accused, have a significantly high share of audience.
